The 124th Foundation Day of Ilocos Sur National High School
The 124th Foundation Day of Ilocos Sur National High School was an impressive celebration filled with vibrant colors, lively music, and strong school pride. While standing on the grounds of the Senior High School ABM-STEM building, the atmosphere was full of the “Tigery” spirit that has represented the school since 1902. This year’s themed activity allowed students to go beyond the classroom and witness the unity of the entire student body through large, coordinated field demonstrations. The scale of the event highlighted the school’s lasting reputation as a “Cradle of Leaders” in Northern Philippines.
One of the most memorable parts of the celebration was the field performances, where students used creative props to present stories of progress and determination. In one performance, students wearing green skirts and floral leis turned the school quadrangle into what looked like a tropical garden, moving gracefully in sync with the rhythm of the drums. Another presentation featured huge, colorful flower fans that formed a beautiful mix of red, yellow, and pink when viewed from afar. These performances showed not only artistic talent but also the weeks of preparation, teamwork, and discipline of the students.
As I reflected on these moments for my photoblog, I realized that the 124th Foundation Day connects the rich history of Ilocos Sur National High School with its promising future. Watching students from different strands and grade levels unite in celebration reminded me that although the school has existed for more than a century, its spirit remains energetic and inspiring. This experience also helped me appreciate the effort behind preserving school traditions. By sharing these photos, I hope to show the strong sense of pride, unity, and excellence that comes with being a true Isnhisian.
